Ford to Dramatically Increase Hybrid Production
According to the New American Dream, Ford Motor Company has announced that it will increase hybrid production from 25,000 annually to 250,000 hybrids per year by 2010.

a quarter-million toyota-licensed hybrid motors. i highly doubt that ford will be making their own hybrid engine in the next 5 years.
Better late than never :)
At this point I don't care WHO makes the hybrids as long as they are readily available in the U.S. and they have significantly increased fuel efficiency.
Many car companies are taking advantage of the technology (gasp!) and using them to gain more horsepower in their models. See the Honda Accord as an example.
