Starbucks, meet Saxbys

A Philadelphia-based coffee chain has plans to go national. Its first store will open shortly in Wayne (PA), with 60 Philadelphia-area locations planned for the first part of 2008 and other locations coming online across the country as well. Saxby's Coffee is headquartered at the Curtis Center along Independence Mall in the Old City section of Philadelphia.

So when do we get a Saxby's coffee shop in center city? A few of us don't have cars, don't live in McMansions in the suburbs and would NOT travel to suburbia for a cup of coffee even if you paid our SEPTA fare.

The Saxby's location in Chicago does not pay their employees and the corporate office does nothing about it- do not patronize these losers.

What's up with the website? Are these folks in business at all?

I have studied up a great deal on the Saxby's story. Saxby's is currently under new legitimate ownership. The new aquired owner Walnut St Capital seem to have the management skills and funding to take the company to new heights. They are proven winners in the greater Philadelphia with a good portfolio. All the problems with the old ownership will eventually be resolved and cleared up over time. As for when they are going to be in the center city area, the answer is soon. It takes time to build a coffe company and I suppose they will be in center city as soon as possible. All in all the company did have problems in the beginning like most companies do but I believe the new aquisition is a great thing for Philadelphia and the company.

The company has recently been aquired by Walnut Street Capital. They will eventually clear up all the problems past management has accumulated. A company takes time to build. I don't see why people are questioning the new management take over. It's a great thing to have a franchise based coffe company in Philadelphia. As for when they will be in center city, the answer is soon! It takes time to build a company, they all can't be a global giant like starbucks.

Whoever did "research" must not know ANYTHING about the "current" management. The "current" management is and was the same management/corporate officers who did not pay employees and has screwed over many Area Developers. These Area Developer's put their hard earned money into a company they are told is "all better now" but they were not there from the beginning. The people who are saying "it's all better now" are the same crooks that have taken hundreds of thousand dollars from trusting people. I TRULY believe the people who are saying how great the company is and who have done their "research" are the corporate officers and their friends and family members. I know about this company and I know all about the "trusting" corporate family. It's all bull. The area developers are too afraid to speak up because their contracts say that they can be kicked out of the company with NO REFUND. Corporate has everyone scared and under control. It's sick that corporate can sleep at night. TRUST me when I say, nothing has changed with this company. Shops are closing left and right and some are out there but not listed on the website. Pretty weird for such an honest group, huh? Why were shares GIVEN to some yet others had to pay top dollar? Why haven't they paid several people's salaries? Why are these shops still closing down? Why aren't they profiting? Why has the company started blackmailing people? Their are plenty of coffee shops out there. Stay FAR away from these crooks.
