San Fran Watter Bottle Ban
According to the Associated Press, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom has issued an executive order banning City departments from buying bottled water, even for water coolers. The bottle ban goes into effect July 1 and will extend to water coolers by December 1. The move is intended to staunch global warming and save taxpayers' money. In a press release announcing the move, the Mayor expressed concern over the environmental impact of making, transporting and disposing of the bottles. Over a billion of the plastic vessels end up in California's landfills every year. When the ban goes into effect, City and County (San Francisco is both a City and County, just like Philadelphia) offices will dispense municipal tap water.

This is good. Now the government officials and agencies who legislate fluoride into the water supply will be forced to drink it themselves.
Fluoride is added to San Francisco’s water supply, not to purify it, but to prevent tooth decay in tap water drinkers. Modern science shows it is ineffective, harmful to health and a waste of tax dollars.
Fluoride chemicals are silicofluorides - waste products of the phosphate fertilizer industry. They are dumped unpurified into the water supply. They are allowed to have trace amounts of lead, arsenic, mercury and other contaminnts.
Studies link silicofluorides to children’s higher blood lead levels which, in turn, are linked to higher rates of tooth decay.
The statistics prove that tooth decay is on the rise along with fluoride over dose symptoms - dental fluorosis
So drink up San Francisco government officials and make sure your kids do, too. If you are buying bottled water at home to protect your family, you should be protecting all San Franciscans by ending water fluoridation.

well, tap water is held to *much* higher standards than is bottled water (much of which has bacterial content equivalent to the average household toilet). unlike ch, I'm happy to source my claim!
why sanction all that needless plastic waste? fight for the water quality you think you deserve, and then drink what comes out of your tap!
A good start. Strange that they choose this as a means to better the environment. I could think of many more, "easy to implement" and a ' affecting less people with negative effects' kind of improving ways to the environment immediately.
Getting the chlorine out of the tap water might be the most important http://www.healthytapwater.com
Fluoride and Central Nervous System:
search youtube for 'phyllis mullenix'
P. Mullenix (PhD, toxicologist) studied how fluoride affected central nervous systems in rats (=mammals, just like us)
Summed up: water fluoridation=riot control system.
A person who drinks fluoridated water is more passive, has lower IQ (because fluoride destroys nervecells), and doesnt want to make emotinonal contacts (or move up in the social pyramid, or make social pyramids).
Please, don't believe me. Search youtube for 'Phyllis Mullenix'
